APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree from a university that is recognised by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)
• Applicants must meet the minimum GPA requirement:
  • For Master’s programs, a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 (or its equivalent in a 100-point system) is required.
  • For PhD programs, a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or its equivalent on a 100-point scale) is required from the master’s degree.

• International applicants who have completed their bachelor's degrees abroad must demonstrate at least a B2 level of Turkish language proficiency. Most programs require a C1 level of Turkish proficiency. Applicants admitted to the programme are required to submit a C1-level Turkish language proficiency certificate at the time of registration. Applicants who fail to provide a C1-level Turkish language proficiency certificate will not be eligible for placement in a Turkish language preparatory programme (TÖMER), except for students sponsored by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

• To apply to English-taught programs, applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency:
  • A minimum score of 80 is required from one of the national English proficiency exams, such as YDS, YÖKDİL, or e-YDS, or an equivalent score from an internationally recognised exam accepted by the Council of Higher Education.
  • Applicants who cannot demonstrate language proficiency may be directed to a preparatory course. A minimum score of 65, or an equivalent on the YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, or similar exams, is required for admission to the preparatory course.
  • IELTS and Duolingo are not accepted.
