In line with the Presidency Circular No. 2020/2 and the instructions of the Council of Higher Education, it was decided to take and implement the following measures at our university in order to prevent COVID-19 outbreak.
1- As of 16 March (Monday) 2020, educational activities have been canceled for three weeks at our university.
2- Those among the academic and administrative staff over the age of 60 and with a chronic illness, disabled and pregnant, will be considered on administrative leave except for the President of the university, Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors of Institutes, and School Directors. Upon request, the rest of the academic and administrative staff will be considered on leave by our Rectorate, depending on their excuses.
3- All international departures of the academic and administrative staff, including the preplanned ones have been canceled until the second announcement.
4- All international departures of the students subject to the knowledge and permission of our university, including educational activities related to university activities, academic exchange programs, social activities, cultural trips, sports activities, competition, etc., have been canceled until the second announcement.
5- All graduate students are also considered on leave.
6- All students (including locals and all international students) should consider the following possible measures into consideration for their own good:
If they go abroad, during their return the following measures could be taken by the authorities.
- Flights could be canceled
- They may not attend the university for 14 days.
- They may face other possible difficulties that are not foreseen right now.
7- The academic and administrative staff who are already abroad are considered on leave for 14 days when they return to Turkey. For that, they have to submit a copy of their passport to the administration in the university. Individuals must spend their administrative leave at their homes in conditions determined by the Ministry of Health.
8- Within the scope of the exchange program such as Mevlana or Erasmus+, necessary measures will be taken in order to protect the students who are currently abroad and will return to Turkey. The administration of the university evaluates each individual case separately.
9- Outbound calls regarding foreign language education, Mevlana, project-based Mevlana programs will be canceled.
Additional measures will continue to be announced on our university website and our corporate social media accounts as they become available.
It is possible to overcome the epidemic that poses a global risk with minimal damage by strictly following the precautions needed. In this context, it is important to implement the measures described above.
